AND MARINES ARE ENSURING HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE IS
MOVING SMOOTHLY IN AND OUT OF NEPAL AT A STAGING BASE
IN THAILAND. THE JOINT AIR COMPONENT COORDINATION
ELEMENT COMMANDER, EXPLAINED “THIS IS
SIGNIFICANT BECAUSE IT SHOWS THAT THE
PARTNERSHIPS IN THIS REGION ARE IMPORTANT, AND
ALL THE EXERCISES IN THIS REGION HAVE A REAL-WORLD
APPLICATION SO THAT WHEN AN INCIDENT HAPPENS LIKE
THE EARTHQUAKE, WE CAN RAPIDLY COME TOGETHER.’ THE U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY
FOOTBALL TEAM RECEIVED THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF’S
TROPHY FROM PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA DURING A
VISIT TO THE WHITE HOUSE. THE COVETED HARDWARE GOES
TO THE TEAM THAT WINS THE MOST FOOTBALL GAMES IN A
COMPETITION BETWEEN THE SERVICE ACADEMY’S
EACH SEASON. FINALLY, CONGRATULATIONS
TO THE AIRMEN FROM THE 374TH AIRLIFT WING AT
YOKOTA AIR BASE, JAPAN. THE GENERAL AND MRS.
JEROME F. O’MALLEY AWARD AWARD WAS PRESENTED TO
COL. MARK AUGUST AND HIS WIFE, CRISTEN, FOR BEING
THE TOP WING COMMAND TEAM. AND THAT DOES IT FOR THE
