    No Bad News Lyrics
When I wake up in the afternoon
Which it pleases me to do
Don't nobody bring me no bad news
'Cause I wake up already negative
And I've wired up my fuse
So don't nobody bring me no bad news

If we're going to be buddies
Better bone up on the rules
'Cause don't nobody bring me no bad news
You can be my best of friends
    As opposed to payin' dues
But don't nobody bring me no bad news

    No bad news
    No bad news
Don't you ever bring me no bad news
'Cause I'll make you an offer, child
    That you cannot refuse
So don't nobody bring me no bad news

    When you're talking to me
    Don't be cryin' the blues
'Cause don't nobody bring me no bad news
    You can verbalize and vocalize
But just bring me the clues
But don't nobody bring me no bad news

Bring some message in your head
Or in something you can't lose
But don't you ever bring me no bad news
If you're gonna bring me something
Bring me, something I can use
But don't you bring me no bad news

Hey, when they first show the view of everyone working down the row, when the sparks start shooting. Check out the very first worker on the left, she was bouncing hard. 😂 A 70s twerk.

The sweatshop workers look hot with their big butts and aprons, especially when they get wet by the sprinklers. Anyone else agree?

Now I'm obsessing because at 2:55 one dancer drops a blue cloth on the floor and another dancer comes along and picks it up and it disappears like magic. Skills.

I absolutely LOVE this song AND this movie! I was in a production of the stage musical back in 1987 and I LOVED every second of it! I don’t care WHAT the people who criticize this movie say, I still say it works! Yes, it takes place in New York City instead of Kansas. But to me the city IS a magical wonderland, like the land of Oz! Yes, Dorothy is an insecure adult, but it still works because of how childlike she is in personality. There are many adults like that. I loved Dinah Ross in this movie! And I loved Michael Jackson! Yes, he didn’t get to show off his fantastic dancing, but the thing is that the Scarecrow is supposed to sing “You Can’t Win” while he’s still up on the pole which would make it a bit hard to dance! And yes, a garden in the middle of the inner city would NOT be out of place. While I don’t actually live in the inner city I do know that people do grow gardens, large and small, in the inner city. And Michael Jackson NAILED it on “You Can’t Win” and “Ease On Down The Road”! While Nipsy Russell didn’t have a singing voice I think he was a hoot as The Tin Man! And I love the clever ways they came up with finding The Tin Man and The Cowardly Lion in the middle of New York City! And for those who complain about how “dark” the movie is-Imean “dark” as not having a lot of bright lights-I got news for you-the darkness and grittiness of the movie definitely reflects the condition of New York City in the 1970’s. It was a dark and gritty place with rolling blackouts constantly going on. Anyone remember the summer of ‘77 when there was a citywide blackout that lasted for at least 3 days and in some places even longer? And yet in darkness and grittiness there were great things happening on the music scene. Rap and Hip-Hop came out of that darkness and grittiness. I have to admit that the subway station scene DID scare me when I first saw it! In reality a subway station CAN be very scary! The worst of humanity can be lurking in the shadows of a subway station! I loved Richard Prior as The Wiz and did find his fire-breathing mechanical head quite scary! And I loved it! And then there’s this scene. Absolutely one the best scenes in the movie! It’s scary and HILARIOUS at the same time! I also love how they made the “flying” monkeys into a motorcycle gang! Get it? They “fly” around in their motorcycles! A very clever idea! And then there’s Mabel King! She was the PERFECT Wicked Witch Of The West! She NAILED this fantastic song! And that’s another high point of this movie-the music is………..well, what can I say!! It is absolutely some of the best Broadway music EVER! The songs are easily singable and so upbeat! And the tender songs like “If I Could Feel”, “Believe In Yourself” and “Soon As I Get Home” and “Home” are touching and inspiring! LOVE the stage musical AND the movie through and through!

For some absolute reason we as an all white, northern English, Church of England primary school did our year six production of the wizard of oz with all of the music from the wiz and I fell in love! I played the cowardly lion which yes meant I had to sing mean ol’ lion as an 11 year old girl. Absolutely adored it though x

Mary did this great justice! I prefer Mary's over this one vocally, but Mabels is more realistic. The presentation in this one is also much better. Imo

It’s amazing how entertaining a movie over 40 years old is more entertaining than the crap they give us now. People don’t think how old movies, and songs are from this era because these times are missed. The 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. Teens now wish they could have experienced it because they give decade themed parties trying to live the reality of it, but those days are gone. I wish they could come back!

I might be crazy but does this have anything to do with slavery/racism? I mean look at the masks, the clothing, the whipping. The masks had large red lips, the large butts to make fun of black features, and the orange clothing that reminds me of slavery and/or prisons jumpsuits. Then look back at the beginning of the scene where you see men and women putting their hands through the machine thing and wearing cuffs. Then at the end all of this whole thing (not in this clip) they all come out of their costumes and that big fat lady dies (idk her name) kind of like how slaves became free… Did race play a part in this movie? Im thinking so deep into this it literally 1am💀💀💀
