ECC Broadcasting Club Intro

The mission of the Broadcasting Club for the
members is just to get experience in whatever your major or position you desire might be
as in career or overall what you might want to study. My name is Cynthia Rodriguez I am the secretary
of the club and my major is english. I am Jair Miranda, I’m the president of the
club and my major is broadcast journalism and mass communication our club got approved last spring, and Jair
actually created the club, he was actually looking for something similar to his major
and couldn’t find anything. So he decided to create this club and at first
it was just for broadcasting but as the club has grown we have seen that there are a lot
of different majors that could benefit from this club. for example we have students who are interested
in broadcasting, communication, journalism, english, filming, just all types of variety
careers you could follow and the experience for the members is to gain that experience
from the position or something you can do for the club, such as being an anchor or a
camera crew or anything that has to do with broadcast. The mission of ECC News is sort of separate,
is just to inform students at El Camino College about programs, school information or anything
that will interest the audience. The main Challenges right now would be maintaining
the club to be active, a lot of paperwork and ICC meetings. Also finding the schedules of everybody in
the group to come together and have our meetings. What I mostly enjoy about the Broadcasting
Club or being in the club overall is meeting the types of great members that we have. We have a lot of really cool people and is
not just stuff like work and get work with them, you actually get to build friendship with
them and that is something that I really desire and is just something I enjoy. Other than that, just the exprience of doing
something you want to do when you grow up it just gets you very excited and gets you
the experience needed to whatever you might want to go to. So that’s something I definitely admire and
enjoy from the club. what I like about the club the most is that
when the club first began, we kind of started off as strangers and we were kind of shy,
but now the club has evolved with fundraisers and all the activities we have been doing,
we have grown into a family and that’s what I really like about the club Is our first semester as an actual active
club and within this semester I really expected very little but we just have done so much,
we have guest speakers , we’ve accomplished things that I was expecting years to come. So in the next year I am expecting even bigger
things. Perhaps actually attending broadcasting studios
like ABC, KTLA talk to these highend famous anchors and professional producers, filmmakers
and just get experience from them and get the equipment that they might have. Also attending universities such as USC which
is a good broadcasting school and just get the experience from these universities just
to have a better chance of getting in there So we are expecting definitely a lot more
to come So if you are not yet part of a club I strongly
recommend you to join a club ASAP is very important and beneficial is just very good
reference when you are trying to transfer and is just help you get out of your comfort
zone. We strongly recommend you to join a club. Also if you are passionate about filming,
editing, working with a camera, talking to people, communications or overall you have
a great personality, I strongly recommend you to join the broadcasting club, because
it will fit you perfectly so if you are interested in joining please
