The U.S. agrees that Japan’s trade curbs against
South Korea set a dangerous precedent and that American firms are bearing the brunt
of them. This, according to Seoul’s trade minister,
Yoo Myung-hee, following her trip to Washington. South Korean political parties agree to set
up a consultative body later this week to address Japan’s export curbs. A group of lawmakers will also travel to Tokyo
in a bid to ease tensions. Korea’s business sentiment for next month
falls to the lowest in over a decade, as global trade tensions continue to weigh on the economy. And… the recent monsoon rain clears up for
the return of sizzling heat. Heatwave advisories and warnings are in effect
and will stay in place for the next few days.
